To qualify for a Health Savings Account (HSA), you must meet each of the following requirements:

  • You must be:
    • Under age 65. 
    • Not have Medicare.
    • Not be eligible to be claimed as a dependent on someone else's tax return.
  • You have a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) on the first day of the month.
  • You do not have any other health plan that is not an HDHP. Other plans relating to you health which are not health plans are permitted.
