It sounds so simple: "I'm stopping work."  Whether you do it voluntarily, because of a health condition, or because you're fired -- there are the steps to take before you go to help maximize the situation for your benefit.  It may sound illogical, but, as you will see, you can and should negotiate for what you want if you are fired. As the saying goes: "You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain."
