Before going to federal court to win a right to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, a claimant must first exhaust the appeals system within Social Security. Those levels are:
- Reconsideration (or Disability Redesign Prototype if you live in Alabama, Alaska, California - Los Angeles area, Colorado, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, and Pennsylvania)
- Administrative Law Judge
- Appeals Council
