Follow-up care means seeing a doctor for regular medical checkups.

Follow-up care is generally provided by your internist or other family doctor.

What follow-up care you receive depends on the type of illness and treatment.

Just as with any visit to a doctor, it is your job to prepare for the meeting and to understand how to maximize limited time with the doctor. For example, keep track of your symptoms. (We provide a simple-to-use chart. When you're ready to go to the doctor, you can push a button and change the information into graph format so the doctor can quickly understand what's been going on.)
