Helpless is the feeling that there is nothing you can do about a situation - as if you are standing frozen to the ground on a train track with a speeding train approaching.
If you stop for a minute and review your life to date, it is likely that you will see that there is no time in your life when you have been totally helpless. Look at whatever coping mechanism worked for you then,. Use use it now.
