Emotions And What To Do About Them
1/1
People with a serious health condition tend to experience a variety of strong emotions. Emotions can show up at any time, in no particular order, and in various depths of intensity. Sometimes more than one emotion shows up at a time.
Out of control emotions can interfere with medical care (including seeking medical help when advisable or adhering to drug regimens), good decision making, work and daily life.
There are time tested techniques to help soften the impact of the following emotions which are among the most common to appear. Techniques that have worked as a general matter for specific emotions are discussed in the linked articles. For general tips to help feel in control of your emotions, click here.
Please keep in mind that if you participate in a chat room, self help or support group, it is advisable to verify the facts you learn about before acting on them. What works (or seems to work) for one person is called "anecdotal information." Anecdotal information is not scientific and may not be correct as a general matter.
