How To Balance Your Health Condition And Work
« Previous2/2
Work can be a double edged sword. At times work can be a timely distraction. At other times, work (and the stress that accompanies work) can make a health condition worse.
Consider the following:
- Do what you can to avoid or at least minimize stress.
- Do the things you like.
- Delegate stressful duties.
- Hire additional people if necessary. The additional expense will reduce your net profit,
- Practice stress reducing techniques. See: Avoiding Unnecessary Stress, Techniques For Coping With Stress
- Do not allow yourself to become run down.
- Pace yourself.
- Take time off as you need it.
- You may be surprised to see that the business will continue even if you are not there for a few days. Could it really hurt to turn off your PDA once in a while?
- Take some time to think through the answer to the following question: Which is more important: your business or your health? Keeping the answer in mind will help guide your overall and day-to-day decisions.
- Check with your doctor to find out if any aspect of your works adversely affects your health condition. If it does, consider delegating those aspects of your work.
