Post Treatment 0 - 6 Months Stages II,III,IV


While cancer treatment has officially ended, the after effects will continue in all aspects of your life. How much time it takes to recover, what happens in the meantime, and what life will be like in the “new normal” that exists after treatment ends is as individual and unique as each of us are. This guide provides the information to help you do your best to thrive in all aspects of your life affected by your condition and treatment during this period of time.

To maximize the benefit to you, we suggest the following three steps:

Step 1. Even if you have read the parts of our guide concerning Newly Diagnosed or In Treatment, we suggest that you first review “The Basics” because they are the foundation for all of our discussions.

Step 2. Read about managing your medical care. Our medical care document describes what to expect as you recover from treatment, how to minimize side effects while maximizing chances of healing, and how to start on a track to make the future better. (See: Colorectal Cancer: Post Treatment: 0 – 6 Months: Managing Medical Care).Part of medical care is to start living a healthier lifestyle such as a cancer prevention lifestyle. Food is particularly important to the incidence of colorectal cancer.

Step 3.   At  least look at the summaries of each of the documents listed below to see how they apply to your life. Pay particular attention to the suggestions about healthy eating and exercise  in day to day living. Diet has proved to be an important factor in the occurrence or recurrence of colon and rectal cancer.  Exercise is also important in the battle against cancer.
