- Put an alert on the front door that informs emergency responders where to find your medical information. There may be a "File Of Life" program in your area which offers decals for your front door to alert emergency personnel to look on the refrigerator for a magnetic red plastic case containing the file. Call your local Office of Aging (type your state and "Office of Aging" in your favorite search engine or go to www.eldercare.go
v), or your local Chamber of Commerce to see if they have such a program or a similar one. If not, you can obtain decals from File Of Life.org (www.folife.org ) - If you do not want to be resuscitated, put this information in the File of Life in bold lettering. Include a copy of your DNR and other advance directives. If you are bedridden, consider including a sign above your bed not to resuscitate.
