West Virginia (FMLA)
1/1
West Virginia does not have a law giving workers extra protections for taking time off if they're sick or they have to take care of a family member, beyond what there is under the federal Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
There is a law giving extra family and medical time off for state workers and employees of county boards of education.
Also, state workers can take paid time off to donate organs and bone marrow.
For information for state workers, see:
West Virginia Code § 21-5D-4 (West Virginia Parental Leave Act)
West Virginia Code § 29-6-28 (Leave time for organ donation)
