How To Balance Your Health Condition And Work

« Previous

2/2

Work can be a double edged sword. At times work can be a timely distraction. At other times, work (and the stress that accompanies work)  can make a health condition worse.

Consider the following:

  • Do what you can to avoid or at least minimize stress.
  • Do not allow yourself to become run down.
    • Pace yourself.
    • Take time off as you need it.
    • You may be surprised to see that the business will continue even if you are not there for a few days. Could it really hurt to turn off your PDA once in a while?
  • Take some time to think through the answer to the following question: Which is more important: your business or your health?  Keeping the answer in mind will help guide your overall and day-to-day decisions.
  • Check with your doctor to find out if any aspect of your works adversely affects your health  condition. If it does, consider delegating those aspects of your work.
