How To Choose A Medicare Advantage Plan

How To Compare The Plan In Which You Are Interested To Original Fee-For Service Medicare

2/2

When comparing a Medicare Advantage plan to Original Fee-For-Service Medicare, look at Medicare plus Medigap to get a clear picture. If you cannot afford Medigap, then only look at Medicare.

  • Does the Medicare Advantage plan cover gaps in Medicare? For example, eyeglasses, hearing aids, preventive care and/or dental care.
  • Is the overall cost less? (Including premiums, co payments and deductibles).
  • Is there less paperwork for you to take care of?
  • If you travel outside the area in which you live, are you covered outside your area?
  • Are you able to see your current doctors?  Additional doctors you may want to see?
  • Do you have freedom to choose treatments or do you have to follow rules?
