So many questions

Managing financial wellbeing is a challenging task under the best of circumstances. When faced with the uncertainty that comes with a cancer diagnosis, the added burden of addressing financial concerns can be overwhelming. The Survivor Financial Counseling Service provides objective financial guidance to help you make informed decisions and take specific, appropriate action as you contend with a wide range of financial issues, such as:

  • Will my income be enough to meet my monthly expenses?
  • How do I make the best use of benefits provided to me through my employer?
  • How will I pay for medical expenses not covered by my insurance?
  • Am I eligible for Social Security benefits? Are my family members? If so, for how long?
  • Taking taxes, employer and other benefits into account, is it financially best for me to retire, take a leave of absence, or to exhaust all paid time-off and remain actively employed for as long as possible?
  • What do I need to do to be sure that my loved ones are provided for in the worst-case scenario?
