In a Mailer Review, you receive a form in the mail which you are supposed to answer and mail back to Social Security. Typically, Social Security accepts the information.

The form is only two pages, and looks very simple. It's not. In a small percentage of cases, the completed form triggers a Full Medical Review. Because of this, care should be taken in completing the form. The form should not be completed without reading the advice in Mailer Review.

Social Security will respond to your completed form by mail, either telling you that a review is deferred to another time or telling you to submit to a Full Medical Review. If you are deferred, the letter will tell you when to expect the next review.

If the medical profile obtained by Social Security indicates that medical improvement is expected or is possible, a full disability review is likely.
